TOKYO - Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Devices Co., Ltd. ("Toshiba") today announced the launch of TCB702FNG, which is the latest product in its lineup of 4-channel high-efficiency linear power amplifiers, and can effectively meet the efficiency requirements of the current market. Sample shipment will start on the same day, and mass production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2019.
In TCB702FNG, Toshiba improves its technology and achieves comparable efficiency with the high efficiency class D digital power amplifier in the actual working range of 0.5-4W output. The power consumption decreases as much as 80% compared with the general class AB power amplifier [1]. The maximum output of the new IC is 45W, which is pin compatible with the company's high efficiency linear power amplifier TCB701FNG with a maximum output of 50W.
The new power amplifier uses self-diagnostic function controlled by I2C bus, which can diagnose errors and realize appropriate product design by changing the detection settings of gain constant or time constant. In addition, it adds full-time error detection function of output DC voltage offset, which can quickly detect abnormal output DC voltage offset and prevent horn burnout, thereby improving the reliability of the chip.
