Toshiba Electronic Components and Storage Corporation today announced the launch of MN07 Series 12TB [1] and 14TB 3.5 inch [2] hard drives for NAS platforms. Toshiba MN07 series uses helium-filled seal mechanical design to achieve up to 14TB and 12TB capacity. Compared with the previous 10TB "air" 7,200 RPM mechanical design, the 14TB model can improve the efficiency by about 55%.



MN07 Series is specially designed for NAS devices with eight or more hard disk slots, and is suitable for NAS files and object storage devices with hard disk rated workload up to 180TB per year. MN07 adopts rotary vibration (RV) technology and advanced format (AF) 512e sector technology. In addition, both devices can operate 7*24 hours, have excellent reliability of MTTF [4] for 1 million hours, and are compatible with commonly used third-party 3.5 inch NAS hard disk boxes.
